Game Review
In a tightly contested Premier League match at Molineux Stadium, Wolverhampton Wanderers and Newcastle United played out a goalless draw. The result, while not entirely unexpected, reflected the evenly matched nature of both teams on the day. Newcastle, coming off a mixed run of form, managed to secure a point away from home, which could be seen as a positive outcome given the circumstances. The match was characterized by a lack of clear-cut chances, with both defenses holding firm. Newcastle's Kieran Trippier (GAP +3.2%) and Bruno Guimarães (GAP +4.0%) were instrumental in maintaining defensive solidity, while Wolverhampton's Jose Sa (GAP +0.7%) ensured his side kept a clean sheet with some crucial saves. Both teams made strategic lineup changes. Wolverhampton Wanderers made one change, bringing in André for Jhon Arias. Newcastle United made two changes, with Kieran Trippier and Sven Botman coming into the side, replacing Fabian Schär and Lewis Miley. These adjustments were likely tactical, as both teams sought to bolster their defensive setups. Despite the lack of goals, the match saw some standout performances. Joelinton (GAP +4.0%) was a key figure for Newcastle, contributing significantly to their midfield battles. Harvey Barnes (GAP +2.5%) also provided a threat on the wings, although he could not find the breakthrough. The result leaves Wolverhampton Wanderers and Newcastle United in a position where they need to find more consistency to climb the Premier League table. For Newcastle, the draw means they maintain their position in the mid-table, while Wolverhampton will be looking to convert such draws into wins to improve their standing. Post-match reactions highlighted the defensive resilience of both teams, with Newcastle's head coach expressing satisfaction with the point gained away from home. Meanwhile, Wolverhampton's manager will be keen to address the lack of cutting edge in attack as they prepare for their next fixture.

What is GAP?
What is Plus Minus Goals (G±)?
Plus Minus Goals (G±) is the average goal difference per game while the player was on the pitch. A value above 0 indicates that the team rather wins, a value below 0 means his team concedes more goals than they score when the player is on the pitch. As an example, if the player's team is winning 3:1 the goal difference is +2, if the player's team is loosing 0:1, the goal difference is -1. It is a pure metric which is barely adjusted for circumstances to purely show the goal difference.
What is GAP?
GAP (Game Advantage Percentage) shows the percentage gap between a player and the average league player. It answers the question: How much does a player improve or worsen a team's performance? It is based on high level game data with a focus on the impact on the goal difference (G±) from the last 50 games of a player. Besides that, GAP goes further and considers game context by involving data from the player and all other players who are at the same time on the pitch, no matter if teammates or opponents. Football GAP - the individual metric for team players.
